McHenry Releases Jobs and Economy Task Force’s Recommendations to Foster Growth Through Innovation
Washington,
September 21, 2022
Today, the Leader of the House Republican Task Force on Jobs and the Economy, Congressman Patrick McHenry (NC-10), announced the Task Force’s solutions to foster long-term, sustainable growth through innovation.
“Innovation is a central component of creating long-term economic growth and bolstering U.S. competitiveness,” said Republican Leader McHenry. “While Democrats fear what they don’t understand, Republicans are working to harness the power of new technology to build a more inclusive and dynamic economy. Ensuring the future infrastructure of the global financial system is built here in America is essential to creating jobs and maintaining our economic influence. At the same time, we can help entrepreneurs access the capital they need to innovate and support American workers through our markets, instead of unelected bureaucrats in Washington picking winners and losers. I’m proud to release the Republican Task Force on Jobs and the Economy’s recommendations to foster robust and enduring growth through innovation.” In an op-ed published in The Hill, Congressman French Hill (AR-02) and Congressman Byron Donalds (FL-19), leaders on the Task Force’s innovation pillar, argued that expanding the accredited investor definition would give innovators and entrepreneurs greater access to capital, while giving more everyday Americans the opportunity to build wealth through our private markets.
