McHenry Announces Task Force Recommendations to Get America’s Fiscal House in Order

Today, Rep. Patrick McHenry (NC-10), the Leader of House Republicans’ Task Force on Jobs and the Economy, announced the Task Force’s recommendations to restore the U.S. economy through sound money, fiscal discipline, and budget enforcement.

“President Biden and House Democrats are spending like drunken sailors at the expense of American taxpayers,” said Republican Leader McHenry. “Due to their reckless fiscal policies, everyday essentials—from groceries to energy—are vastly more expensive than they were when Biden took office. This Democrat-induced inflation is clobbering American workers, with real wages continuing to fall. By reorienting our economy around sound money principles, we can ensure a dollar saved today is still worth a dollar tomorrow. Americans deserve fiscal discipline from their government, and a Congress that ensures taxpayer resources are not vulnerable to waste, fraud, or abuse. That is exactly what a House Republican majority will deliver.”

In an op-ed published in The Hill, Rep. Bryan Steil (WI-01), a leader on the Task Force’s fiscal policy pillar, outlined the danger of Democrats’ fiscal insanity and how a House Republican majority will use robust oversight and better target federal dollars to rein in out-of-control spending.
