Chief Deputy Whip Patrick McHenry (NC-10) released the following statement on House passage of H.Res. 1099 - House Amendment to Senate Amendment to H.R. 6 - SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act:

"For too long families and communities all across the country, including right here in the Tenth District, have suffered from the pain caused by the opioid crisis. Today, we took an important step in the ongoing battle to end the cycle of addiction affecting the lives of so many here in western North Carolina. 

"I was proud to join my colleagues in sending a bipartisan, bicameral bill to President Trump’s desk that addresses all sides of this crisis, from addiction prevention to providing resources for law enforcement and families as they combat this crisis in their communities and in their own homes.”
