Recently, I had the chance to visit L.O.V. Home Decor & More in Denver, a nonprofit dedicated to serving local veterans founded by veteran Kevin Popko. From funding a surgery for a veteran's service dog to helping a veteran find housing and a job, L.O.V. is doing a wonderful job helping the veteran community here in the Tenth District.
Two new canines join handlers at North Iredell, Lake Norman high schools
Statesville Record and Landmark
School resource officers have the difficult job of keeping Tenth District students safe while they learn. It is great to see that two high schools are getting new deputies on the job, although these deputies have four legs instead of two! Thank you to all of our hardworking Tenth District law enforcement officers, even the canine officers on the job, for the work you do to help protect our communities.

The Morganton News Herald
February is dedicated to honoring the history and culture of African Americans. From business, political, and military leaders to important educators and inventors, African Americans have made many meaningful contributions to the country and to North Carolina. Here is a great story honoring this history and how local leaders, like the group of mothers who fought for equal access to education for African American students in Burke County, made a difference in our communities here in the Tenth District.
