HICKORY - Today, Congressman Patrick McHenry (NC-10) announced Mooresville's Muhammad Fawwaz—a student at South Iredell High School—as the winner of the Tenth District's 2023 Congressional App Challenege. Muhammad created The AI Eye, which is designed to support visually impaired individuals in their daily lives by assisting them in object identification and acknowledgment.

"I congratulate Muhammad on winning the 2023 App Challenge and I am proud to have his app representing the Tenth District," said Congressman McHenry. "I commend him for taking advantage of cutting edge technology—artificial intelligence—to positively impact the lives of the visually impaired."
