Questions for Facebook's Project Libra

Recently, I joined Spectrum News to discuss why I called for hearings on Facebook’s recent announcement of their new global cryptocurrency project. While there are potential benefits of Project Libra, there is still so little that is understood about what Facebook is attempting to do. I am glad that the House Financial Services Committee will be holding a hearing next month. Click here or on the image below to watch my interview with Spectrum News.

Last week, I also joined CNBC’s "Squawk Box" to discuss Facebook’s Project Libra to highlight some of the many unanswered questions that I hope we can address at next month’s hearing. You can hear more about my concerns by clicking here or on the image below.

Congratulations to This Year's Tenth District Congressional Art Competition Winner

Congratulations to Karina Jones on winning the 2019 Tenth District Congressional Art Competition. I was honored to meet with her and her family in my D.C. office this week when she came to see her artwork unveiled at the U.S. Capitol. Click here to learn more about Karina and how she was selected to be this year's 2019 Tenth District Congressional Art Competition winner.

Her artwork “Mabel” will remain on display at the U.S. Capitol throughout the next year alongside the other 2019 Congressional Art Competition winners from across the country. Thank you to all of the Tenth District art students who participated in this year’s Congressional Art Competition.

Pelosi caves, will hold vote on Senate-passed border-funding bill

National Review

We are facing a very real crisis at our southern border, with record numbers of illegal immigrants flowing into our country. For months, House Democrats have continued to play political games instead of working together with President Trump to address this crisis. Late Thursday afternoon, I was proud to join my colleagues as the House finally took a bipartisan step forwards by sending an emergency funding bill to the President’s desk. Click here for some of the facts that demonstrate how important it is to address the crisis at the border, courtesy of the Office of Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy.
