Congressman McHenry Weekly Update
National Police Week
Please join me in celebrating National Police Week and thanking all our Tenth District officers for the incredible work they do to keep our families and our communities safe. Western North Carolina is blessed to have countless committed law enforcement officers who protect and defend us each and every day. This week we honor the brave men and women in blue and thank them for their service.

On Wednesday, we observed Peace Officers' Memorial Day, to honor the sacrifices these brave men and women have made to they keep our communities safe. Thank you to all of our local, state, and federal peace officers for the incredible work you do to protect our families and loved ones. What is Happening at the Financial Services Committee
On Thursday, the House Financial Services Committee held a hearing to receive testimony from financial regulators on how they are ensuring the safety, soundness and accountability of banks and other depository institutions. My Republican colleagues and I urged for regulatory right-sizing to provide relief to community financial institutions, credit unions, and American consumers. C-SPAN's Newsmakers
Recently, I joined C-SPAN’s Newsmakers to discuss my role as the Ranking Republican on the Financial Services Committee. I had the chance to share some of my goals for the Committee, the importance of putting consumers first, and the long-term negative impacts of politically driven oversight. National Craft Beer Week
This week, for American Craft Beer Week, we celebrate the culture and community of craft brewers across the United States. Gaston Gazette

This week as we honored the brave men and women who protect our communities during National Police Week I enjoyed reading this story about Corporal Robert Ellison. Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy: The House must stand against the toxic BDS movement

The Washington Post

The BDS movement is a shameful effort targeting our sacred ally Israel. This week, I was proud to join my colleagues in signing on to a discharge petition to help bring anti-BDS legislation to the floor. This important legislation would empower state and local governments to combat efforts to delegitimize and isolate the state of Israel through economic warfare. Learn more about this week's discharge petition and the efforts to counter the BDS movement in this op-ed from House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
