National Police Week
This week, as we commemorate National Police Week, please join me in honoring law enforcement officers and thanking them for everything they do to protect and defend our communities each and every day. It was moving to see the many ways the Tenth District came together to recognize National Police Week. Click here to read more about how the Mooresville community came together to remember and honor honor Officer Jordan Sheldon and other Mooresville police officers that have been killed in the line of duty. Also, click here to learn more about how Sheriff Darren Campbell and the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office holds an annual wreath-laying ceremony at the graves of fellow officers who were killed in the line of duty over 100 years ago. I will always be proud to stand with our men and women in blue.
Every day, our nation’s law enforcement officers bravely put themselves in harm’s way to keep our families and communities safe. Yet, some Democrats and others on the left continue to push to defund the police, a wrong and dangerous effort that would only weaken law enforcement. As the graphic below demonstrates, Democrat-run cities across the country who cut funding for police have seen increases in crime. On National Police Week please join me in standing up to defend our brave men and women in blue.
