 Protecting Americans’ Retirement Savings

This week I was proud to introduce a bill that will help protect Americans' retirement savings. The Protecting Retirement Savers and Everyday Investors Act would prohibit states from imposing a Financial Transaction Tax (FTT) on certain industry participants, which would be paid by out-of-state investors when the FTT is passed onto them. This includes Main Street investors saving for retirement, their first home, or their child’s education. As Democrats continue to push their false claim that the FTT is only a tax on the wealthiest, Republicans will continue to fight for middle-class Americans saving for their future. Good News For Our Economy

The U.S. economy bounced back in the third quarter, growing at its fastest rate ever. The Bureau of Economic Analysis found that the GDP increased at an annual rate of 33.1 percent in the third quarter of 2020. This provides a clear sign that the economy is on the road to recovery. I'm proud to support President Trump as he continues to work to defeat the coronavirus and get all of America back to work. Congratulations Justice Barrett

Congratulations to the newest Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court, Judge Amy Coney Barrett. Throughout the confirmation process, Judge Barrett demonstrated herself to be the right choice to serve on our nation's highest court. I am confident she will be an excellent Supreme Court Justice dedicated to upholding our Constitution. I commend President Trump and my Senate colleagues on the confirmation of Justice Barrett.

American hostage Philip Walton rescued in dramatic military operation: Officials

ABC News

This week, the brave Americans from Seal Team 6 rescued Philip Walton from terrorists in Nigeria. This heroic rescue comes during the same week we recognized National Day of the Deployed. Please join me in praying for the brave servicemen and women defending freedom around the world. Our thoughts are with all who are deployed and their loved ones waiting for them to come home. I am thankful for their service and sacrifice.

Local manufacturing company excels in the cabinet market

Lincoln-Times News

American Woodmark Corporation, based in Lincolnton, supplies the bulk of the cabinetry sold at Lowe's and Home Depot. The pandemic hasn't stopped their efforts to provide cabinets for 37 states. Instead they've adapted and found new ways to help their workers during these challenging times. I always enjoy hearing about our manufacturers right here in the Tenth District and the important jobs they provide to our communities.
