Operation Warp Speed

In May, President Trump launched Operation Warp Speed, a groundbreaking partnership between the Federal Government, scientific community, and private sector to quickly develop and deliver a safe and effective vaccine against the coronavirus. Operation Warp Speed is a testament to the power of American innovation as our scientists and manufacturers work together to help provide this crucial tool in our battle against the pandemic. Already, three vaccine candidates are in phase 3 clinical trials, with more following closely behind. II am thankful for President Trump’s work on this important effort. Supporting Main Street Businesses

On Monday, Senator Mike Crapo (R-ID)—Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee—and I sent a letter urging the Treasury Secretary and Federal Reserve Chairman to utilize the remaining funds in the Exchange Stabilization Fund (ESF) to its fullest extent.t. The ESF provides a critical economic backstop with the potential to unleash trillions of dollars to support businesses and employees in need during the coronavirus pandemic. In our letter, we outlined why the Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve should do more to provide support to Main Street businesses, their workers, and our American economy. Looking back on V-J Day 75 Years Later

Smithsonian Magazine

On August 15, 1945 Japan surrendered marking the end to the deadliest and most destructive conflict in recorded history. Now 75 years later, we remember this day and honor those who fought to defend freedom in WWII. I am thankful for all who served and the sacrifices they made to protect our country and the world during WWII.
