Supporting Our Small Businesses

This week we celebrate the many small businesses that call the Tenth District home. They play an important role in our communities, serving and employing our families, friends, and neighbors across western North Carolina. The devastating impact the coronavirus has had here at home means that now, more than ever, our local businesses need our support. Here are some tips on how you can celebrate Small Business Week 2020 by giving back and supporting small businesses during these challenging times.

This Week in the Financial Services Committee

Before the coronavirus pandemic, American workers and businesses saw the best economy of our lifetimes. We need to do that again. As we work to defeat the coronavirus, we must also find a compromise to support those people who are still struggling because of this global health pandemic. Restoring Our Normal Way of Life

House Republicans' Commitment to America is a promise to continue working to uphold our country as the greatest place in the world to call home. We must restore our normal way of life by defeating the coronavirus. President Trump launched Operation Warp Speed to do just that. Through the power of American innovation, our scientists and manufacturers are working together in order to quickly develop and deliver a safe and effective vaccine against the coronavirus. Two-year anniversary: Autistic child’s 2018 death led to FBI changes

Shelby Star

Two years ago the Gaston County community was struck by the tragic death of six year old Maddox Ritch at Rankin Lake Park. This terrible incident led the local FBI agents to develop a new questionnaire for investigators to use when children with autism—like Maddox—go missing. As we continue to mourn the loss of Maddox, we can hope that this questionnaire will help prevent tragedies like this from ever happening again.
