A Win For American Farmers

On Wednesday, the House fulfilled its promise to American farmers by sending the farm bill to President Trump’s desk. This bill is an important win for U.S. farmers and all Americans who rely on the goods farmers deliver to our tables every day. This bill also helps our rural communities combat the devastating opioid crisis and helps ensure broadband services for the most unserved in our country. It will also help many of our nation’s most vulnerable with reforms to nutrition assistance programs like SNAP so they are administered in the most efficient and effective way possible. Celebrating the Bill of Rights

On December 15, 1971 the Bill of Rights was ratified by Congress. The Bill of Rights established some of the important freedoms that define us as Americans to this day. I’m thankful for the wisdom and vision of our founding fathers to establish the first ten amendments to our Constitution to ensure we continue to enjoy these unalienable rights.

Celebrating Christmas with the US Capitol Police

While the official United States Capitol tree gets most of the attention, the unofficial United States Capitol Police tree at the House barricade is just as important. Thanks to the men and women of the US Capitol Police for inviting me to the ceremonial lighting of this year’s tree and for all the work they do each day keeping members, staff, and the public safe.
