Congressman McHenry Weekly Update
The Partisan Impeachment Inquiry is a Waste of Time

This past week, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats proved once and for all that they would rather waste time on a partisan investigation that has no chance of succeeding instead of working on bipartisan priorities that would actually help the American people. By launching this inquiry they are showing their ultimate motivation: to undo the will of the American people and remove President Trump from office. You can read my response to last week's impeachment inquiry announcement below. We Need More Answers to the SAFE Banking Act

Last week, the House passed a bill that would enact one of the biggest changes to U.S. drug policy, yet it was done with little debate and with far too many questions left unanswered. We do not fully understand the sweeping implications of this legislation and there is no way of knowing if this bill will expose our banking system to drug cartels and illicit activity. Click here or on the image below to watch the speech I delivered on the House Floor in opposition to the SAFE Banking Act.

Working to Improve our Nation's Cybersecurity

On Tuesday, I was proud to introduce a bill that will address the growing cybersecurity threat that is facing American consumers. This bill will ensure the Federal Reserve is prioritizing cyber security and modernizations to combat the threat of cyberattacks to our financial system. You can learn more about how this bill will address what many have said is one of the biggest issues impacting our nation’s financial institutions by clicking here. I recently had the opportunity to join Cheddar to discuss my bill and the importance of prioritizing our cybersecurity to help protect American consumers. You can watch my interview by clicking here or on the image below.

Modernizing Our Financial Regulators

Last week, I introduced a bipartisan bill with Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney of New York's Twelfth District to help make public data more easily accessible. The bill we introduced will require financial regulators to make all data available in an open source format that is electronically searchable, downloadable in bulk, and without license restrictions. 'Almost impossible mission': The 8,000-mile nonstop flight to save a U.S. soldier's life

Fox News

Every day, American soldiers accomplish incredible feats of bravery and heroism to defend our freedoms and help their fellow soldiers. Last month, more than 100 troops stood in line outside a base hospital in Afghanistan to donate blood to help a special operations soldier who had been severely injured. This is only part of the incredible story where brave men and women flew 8,000 miles in a nonstop flight to save the soldier’s life.
