Announcing the Tenth District Congressional App Challenge

This year, for the first time ever, my office will be sponsoring the Tenth District Congressional App Challenge. I encourage middle and high school students here in the Tenth District to create and submit their own app for the opportunity to win prizes and see their app design on display in the U.S. Capitol. I am looking forward to seeing this year’s submissions, which I am sure will showcase student coders innovative ideas and unique app ideas. Learn more about how to participate by clicking here. You can visit the official Congressional App Competition website by clicking here.

Combatting Our Nation's Growing Cybersecurity Threat

When the Financial Services Committee heard from the CEOs of America’s seven largest banks earlier this year, the majority of the CEOs cited cyberattacks as the biggest risk they faced. On Thursday, I joined Cheddar to discuss a bill I will be introducing to address this growing issue and ensure the Federal Reserve is prioritizing cyber security and modernization to combat the growing threat of cyber attacks to our financial system. I also had the chance to discuss Facebook's Project Libra and the importance of being in favor of innovation and cryptocurrency while being mindful of the many questions that remain. Happy Constitution Day

On Tuesday, we celebrated the two hundred and thirty-second anniversary of the day our Founding Fathers signed the document that remains the bedrock of this great nation. Since September 17, 1787 we have valued the U.S. Constitution and its role in protecting the freedom and democracy we hold dear.

4 things to know about POW/MIA Recognition Day

Military.com

On Friday, in honor POW/MIA Recognition Day we recognized the soldiers who were captured while fighting for our freedoms overseas and remembered those who never made it home. We will never forget the sacrifices made by these brave men and women who served their country and defended the freedoms we hold dear. I'm proud to fly the POW/MIA flag outside my office every day in remembrance of these brave soldiers. We will never forget.

Lincoln Charter School students give back on 9/11

Lincoln Times News

In Lincoln County, students from Lincoln Charter School chose to remember and honor those who lost their lives on 9/11 by volunteering for organizations throughout the Lincoln County community. They spent the day providing a helping hand to the Hesed House of Hope, Communities in Schools, the Rock Springs Nature Preserve, and other local organizations in the Tenth District. Their service is a powerful reminder of the importance of coming together as a community and as Americans in the face of such tragedy.
