Congressman McHenry Weekly Update - Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Giulia, Cecelia, Rese, and I wanted to wish everyone in the Tenth District a Merry Christmas! This year we have faced unprecedented challenges that have affected all aspects of our lives, including the way we celebrate this sacred day.

In the face of these challenges, I am thankful for the many men and women who have sacrificed so much to serve our communities here in the Tenth District over the past year. Our dedicated first responders, health care workers, and law enforcement officers are working each day to keep our communities safe and healthy. All around the world the brave men and women of our armed forces are fighting to defend our freedoms. They are our nation’s heroes, and I am thankful for their selfless service.

This holiday season, please join me in praying for all those who have fought to keep our families, loved ones, and communities safe over the past year.

Supporting Our Law Enforcement

I encourage everyone to watch this great interview with Kings Mountain Police Chief Lisa Proctor who spoke out after Kings Mountain Police Officer Lee Whittington, Jr. was shot last week. I am grateful to Chief Procter for standing up and speaking out for those who chose to put on the badge every day because they have a passion to protect the people and communities they serve. Please join me in praying for Chief Proctor, Officer Whittington, and all the men and women of law enforcement.

We also continue to extend our prayers to the family and loved ones of officers Tyler Herndon and Jason Shuping as they mourn their tragic deaths. Today, and every day, I support all of our brave men and women in blue and honor the sacrifices they make to keep our communities safe. Conover student places in national gingerbread competition

Hickory Daily Record

Congratulations to Conover native Vincent Freeland for earning second place in his age group at this year’s National Gingerbread House Competition! 7-year-old Vincent’s entry was completely edible and was inspired by the “Nightmare Before Christmas” movie. Great job Vincent and we hope you keep baking so we can continue to hear about your impressive creations!
