Congressman McHenry Weekly Update

Thank You Law Enforcement

This week we celebrated National Police Week. Please join me in honoring law enforcement officers and thanking them for everything they do to keep our communities safe. The Tenth District is blessed to have brave men and women in each of our local law enforcement agencies who protect and defend us each and every day. In recognition of National Police week, I wanted to share a message thanking our law enforcement for the important work they do. Click here to watch.

A Partisan Response to the Coronavirus

Instead of working with the Trump Administration to help those most affected by the spread of the coronavirus, Democrats have continued to play political games that will only hurt those most in need. On Friday, that continued as Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats forced a vote on a $3 trillion proposal that was nothing more than a liberal wish list. Click here or on the image below to read my full statement on this partisan bill that has no chance of becoming law.

Earlier in the week, I joined Bloomberg TV to discuss the importance of taking a responsible approach to ensure that Congress's next steps in our coronavirus recovery are aiding those most in need. Click here or on the image below to watch the full interview.

Recognizing Our Nation's Hospitals

As we battle the spread of the coronavirus in our communities, our hospitals have been on the frontlines helping to keep us and our loved ones safe and healthy. This week was National Hospital Week, a time to recognize hospitals and the doctors, nurses, and many more who work hard each and every day to ensure that we are getting the best possible care. Please join me in thanking these heroes for everything they do.

Distilleries shift gears to make hand sanitizer

Hickory Daily Record

Two Catawba County distilleries are doing their part to protect the community during the coronavirus pandemic. Not only are the producing much-needed hand sanitizer, but they are also bringing the community together by providing hand sanitizer to first responders and working with other local companies to create their product. Thank you Warehouse Distillery and SeventeenTwelve Distillery!

Mt. Holly officers spring into action to help mom give birth on side of road

WSOC-TV

In honor of National Police Week please join me in recognizing the four Mt. Holly police officers who helped deliver baby Xareni last week on the side of the road. I am thankful for our Tenth District officers who help our communities and keep us safe.
