Congressman McHenry Weekly Update

The Senate Votes to Acquit President Trump

Over the past three years, Democrats have continually displayed their never-ending commitment to undoing the results of the 2016 election. These partisan political games culminated during the Senate impeachment trial, where Democrats calls for additional witnesses and evidence illustrated how deeply flawed the House’s impeachment process had been. As the graphic below demonstrates, it was never about the facts, instead it has only been about Democrats' desperation to undo the results of the 2016 election.

Wednesday's Senate vote marked the end of a rushed and fiercely partisan impeachment process. Click here or on the image below to read my full statement on the Senate vote acquitting President Trump and the end to this sad and regrettable exercise.

The State of the Union is Strong

On Tuesday, President Trump delivered a strong message focused on all that we’ve accomplished. I look forward to working with the President as we continue the fight to uphold our promises to protect American workers, support our military around the world, and keep our economy booming. Before President Trump delivered his address I had the opportunity to join Charlotte's Spectrum News to share my predictions for the speech, including the positive impacts trade deals like the USMCA and tax relief have had on American families. I was glad to see the President highlight these economic messages and his commitment to continuing to help our economy grow in Tuesday's address. Click here or on the image below to watch.

Back Home in North Carolina with President Trump

On Friday, it was great to travel down to North Carolina on Air Force One with President Trump. Several of my House colleagues and I joined the President for the Opportunity Now Summit in Charlotte where he spoke about the positive impact opportunity zones are having to help spur economic development in low-income communities here in North Carolina and all across the country.

During the State of the Union, President Trump highlighted our booming economy and how tax relief and trade deals like the USMCA are helping it continue to grow. The January jobs report is more proof of this good news. Not only were 225,000 new jobs added this month, January marked the 112th straight month of growth for the U.S. economy.
