Today, Chief Deputy Whip Patrick McHenry (NC-10), Vice Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, released the following statement on the Supreme  Court's ruling that the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) system of using in-house judges to decide conflicts is unconstitutional:

"Under the Obama Administration, the SEC’s administrative law judge proceedings were unfair, biased, and unconstitutional. Today’s Supreme Court decision recognizes that. The homecourt advantage created by the SEC’s judges radically tipped the scales of justice, controlling what evidence was admissible, what procedural due process rights were provided, and the size of penalties that were imposed.  I am thankful that the Supreme Court sent a clear message to Washington bureaucrats that the agencies they run are subject to the same justice system as the American people."
