Chief Deputy Whip Patrick McHenry (NC-10) released the following statement on the passing of former First Lady Barbara Bush:

"Barbara Bush was an incredible American. Throughout her years in the public eye, she always carried herself with the utmost integrity. With a strong personality and an unforgettable sense of humor, she served as the rock for one of America's great families, keeping them together through success and adversity, happiness and sadness. 

"Giulia and I join with the rest of a grateful nation in remembering and celebrating the life of Mrs. Bush. Our prayers are with the entire Bush family as they mourn this loss."
