Chief Deputy Whip Patrick McHenry (NC-10) released the following statement after House passage of H.R. 7, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act:

“This Friday, many western North Carolinians will travel to Washington to join with hundreds of thousands of their fellow Americans solemnly marching against the tragedy of abortion. Our House majority is committed to standing with them in defense of life and today we voted to do that with passage of HR 7.  

“Combined with President Trump’s executive order Monday reaffirming President Reagan’s Mexico City policy, passage of HR 7 will ensure federal tax dollars are never used to fund abortions either at home or abroad. These important steps reaffirm our commitment to standing in defense of those who cannot defend themselves.”
