LENOIR - Today, Congressman Patrick McHenry (NC-10) announced that his Caldwell County town hall meeting will be broadcast live online via Ustream.tv. The meeting will occur Thursday, August 19 at 6:00 PM at the Broyhill Civic Center in Lenoir. Congressman McHenry is among the first Members of Congress to live-stream a town hall meeting.
Internet viewers will be able to watch Congressman McHenry respond to constituents' comments and questions, as well as participate in a live discussion via Twitter and Facebook on the Ustream broadcast website.
"In addition to meeting directly with folks, I've incorporated new technology to communicate with my constituents, including using Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube," said McHenry. "I'm excited to use technology to expand the universe of people who can participate in town hall meetings. I look forward to hearing from more constituents who aren't able to be there in person."
Thursday's town hall meeting in Lenoir will be the seventh of eight town halls McHenry has hosted throughout the Tenth District this August.
