Census

As the Ranking Member of the House Subcommittee on Information Policy, Census, and National Archives, Congressman McHenry is responsible for oversight of the 2010 Decennial Census.  He is leading a non-partisan coalition against the Obama Administration’s unprecedented efforts to politicize the constitutionally-mandated census.

Congressman McHenry helped defeat the President's attempt to move control of the census from the Commerce Department to White House.  The Congressman is working to protect the integrity and accuracy of the census count from partisan politics and data manipulation.   The census is the basis for our country’s entire statistical system and it guides the allocation of more than $300 billion in federal, state and local funds.
