Remember Obama said "We Won, You Lost" No compromise! No Bi-partisianship! Please neuder this President and reverse (not modify) his agenda starting with Obama-Care. Get rid of his Czars! Secure the Borders, Get rid of all ILLEGALS to make jobs for legal citizens and ease the drain on the infrastructure for openers. Thank You for your service, Harold and Rustina Hansen

How can I read about the reasons to repeal or change the health care bill? What other ways can people find to receive proper health care if they cannot afford insurance-often because they are unemployed? I understand that the cost of government is out of control and want to learn what can be done to restore fiscal responsibility.

Patrick: Keep up the good work and vote to repeal Obamacare. That' my main concern right now. I live in Denver. God bless! :)

Great message Congressman! Congrats on your Oversight Sub-Committee Chair appointment. I look forward with great anticipation to a renewed trust in our House of Representatives as the 112th Congress convenes. May God be with you as you take actions on behalf of your constituents here in the 10th NC Dist and on behalf of all the citizens of these great United States. As a retired U.S. Army officer and federal employee of the DoD, and with a total of 33 years of service to my country, I stand ready to serve again in any capacity that I might be of assistance to you. God Speed!

Patrick, Thank you for not only this video, but your email response to my last email to you. Thank you supporting unemployment extensions, my husband will keep trying and hopefully we will have good news soon. I don't know whom the Republicans are considering to run against President Obama in 2012, I just hope we can get somebody like John Boehner or Mike Huckabee. We need as a country to keep God in everything. Our country as you know is unique because of our values, morals and Freedoms. We are usually the first to aide others even when we know they will not be there for us. I like both the men mentioned above because of their values, and morals. And most especially because I feel they are true Christians and will put this country first and foremost. I also feel this about you, and only through strong leadership and a tight reign on the governments out of control spending habits, will we ever begin to climb out of the mess this country is in now. i think you are doing a fantastic job and was very proud to reelect you to another term ( I still hope one day you will run for President).
  • Howard Burton commented on 1/7/2011
Congressman, I believe you will try to deliver on what you promised. My fear is that the entrenched country club elitists will attempt to dampen the resolve of the tea party candidates. Please hold their feet to the fire and stop the compromising. We don't want to get along with this president and his agenda, we want it defeated and we want his status to be "former" president Obama in 2012.

Mr. McHenry: We got the majority we want now it is time to complete the job. I appreciate what you and others are doing to get America back on the right track. We all will be watching closely. Thanks again.

WHY DIDN'T YOU VOTE TO REPEAL HEALTHCARE?????????
  • Jan Elmore commented on 1/7/2011
Thank you for all that you do for all of us in the 10th NC Dist. I know that we all will have to be willing to give up some things to get this country on a more solid fiscal foundation. I know that you will work for us and be willing to make the hard choices required for us and for those who will follow us. May God bless you as you work to restore AMERICA back to a strong nation.

Honorable Congressman McHenry, I viewed your video, and would like to say that I am grateful you were reelected as my Congressman and also to congratulate you on your new post (Oversight Sub-Committee Chair). I sincerely hope you can stop this runaway spending by our government and help put us on the right track. I love this country always have and always will but it concerns me to see us sliding backward to a third world country. I have confidence that you will have the ability to correct many of our problems and get our nation back on its feet. Please endeavor to keep God in our schools, courts and military. May God bless you and the majority of our Congress.

I RECEIVED AN E MAIL STATING THAT "IN JESUS NAME' "WILL BE OMITTED FROM THE PRAYERS THAT ARE SAID IN THE NC STATE LEGLISLATORS. JUST BECAUSE MOST OF THESE LIBERALS LOVE OBAMA DOES'NT MEAN THE PRAYERS CHRISTIANS OFFER UP DON'T NEED TO BE BUTCHURED. MAYBE THEY NEED TO HEAR WHO GOD IS "JESUS JESUS" IF A MUSLIM PRAYED TO THEIR GOD, I WOULDN'T STAY TO HEAR IT AS WELL AS A BUDDIST. AGAIN, REGARDLESS WHAT OUR "GREAT LEADER" MAY SAY.....THIS IS.....................A CHRISTIAN NATION. IT WOULD HELP IF THE CANCER CALLED THE ACLU COULD BE HELD IN CHECK RATHER THAN MAKING THREATS AS THEY DO TO SCHOOL BOARDS ETC AND MAKE THEM CAVE IN RATHER THEM FIGHT THEM.

Thanks for reading and responding to my many emails about various bills being discussed in the Congress. The message from you and the message from The Speaker of The House by email today is a great start. I expect great things and great changes to get back to a smaller more lean government.
  • Barbara Robinson commented on 1/7/2011
We the People spoke loudly in November and I am thankful for the outcome. Please pass this message on that we do not want any compromise's, no back room deals just fight with all your might to put our beloved country back on track. This country has been blessed by our Heavenly Father in so many ways. Thanks for reading the constitution on the floor. Our founding fathers worked hard on that contract for America. Our constition needs to be upheld at all times. It was a happy day to see Nancy Pelosi give up that gavel !! My hopes and prayers is that the 112th Congress can repeal Obamacare or at least find some way to defund it. As always Patrick, thank you for all that you do for our country and the people of this nation. Sincerely, Barbara Robinson

Thank you for keeping us informed on the issues and congrates on you Chair appointment; they couldn't ask for a better man to do the job. The issues of most concern are how are you and congress going to tackle social security for seniors who need their C.O.L.A? My husband and I are on the low end of the scale and have lost spproximately $400 a month over 2 years. Also, the JOBS issue, let's keep our American companies here not overseas; and, let's modify the Healthcare bill so it's reasonable for everyone. What about concern for our soldiers coming home to no jobs, maybe a foreclosed home? They would make excellent TSA agents. They have the training to be on the lookout for suspicious activity and their K-9 units. Taxpayers would get their monies worth. With your strong values and love for our country like Boehner, Huckabee just maybe it will get out contry back on its feet. Our Constitution needs to be adhered to. David Barton of Wallbuilders.com is a great source to tap for constitional rights. Thank you and God Bless.
  • Denton Benfield commented on 1/8/2011
Meet the new Boss-same as the old Boss You"ve wasted who knows how much money with your silly show of reading the constitution, and now you are wasting time debating a health care bill that gives most of us normal people a fair shake at having coverage in our later years, knowing that it will die in the senate. Quit wasting our time and money and start working with the moderate Democrats to help the economy continue on the right track
  • George Fisher commented on 1/8/2011
In my opinion, if you in congress want to truly address the unemployment in this nation we must address the offshoring of manufacturing to low wage countries. To create wealth in a nation you transform a raw material into a desirable product that will benefit society. Where you transform that product and sell it creates wealth. To only sell a product is only half of the equation. An example of this is what has happened to our Textile industry. We must develop incentives for industry to produce their products in this country rather than low wage off shore countries. In times of national emergency, we can not depend on other countries to supply our needs. Had it not been for companies like Ford, GE,ship building companies and many others we would not have won WWII. These companies must now rely on others to produce their products. Our industries have been ravaged by our trade policies. Trade policies are largely the reason China is suddenly so wealthy. I think you are doing a fantastic job and was very proud to reelect you to another term I believe your actions in the past speak to the fact you truly do listen to the people you represent.
  • Terry Fisher commented on 1/8/2011
We have the majority, now lets see what we do with it. I pray the Republicans will stick to the principals that got us into the majority, even though it may be painful at times. Please do not back down; do not let the liberal bias of the media intimidate you, the American people are with you, you represent us and our views, not the liberal left. God bless you with wisdom to do what needs to be done. Rein in the EPA, repeal ObamaCare, take back the control Congress has relinquished to Federal Agencies.
  • Matthew Buchanan commented on 1/8/2011
ObamaCare is not the only problem this country is really seeing at this point. Your on a committee for a huge problem, TARP and these Bailouts. These are nothing more than a Government increasing their own power and limiting freedoms here in OUR country. Big government needs to stop, and once again you had my vote from Connelly Springs. I hope you stand up for the little man who is just trying to make an honest living. With respect, your constituent Matthew Buchanan

Is there any way to get our military out of Aghanastan? It is a loosing war. We dont need our men and women dying there. To me it is almost as imprtant as the need for more jobs. Please initiate some help to work in this area. PLEASE!! Thanks for doing all you are doing. Amen to all the comments above!
  • Dan Nietupski commented on 1/8/2011
Rep McHenry: Stand firm with the repeal of Obama-care! You all will need to start over with health care. No one has a right to medical insurance coverage. There should be no free rides! I have no health care insurance, even though I am employed. I can not afford it. I have put my money into good healthy food, good supplements, and regular exercise, and some savings in a medical expenses account for unforseen illnesses. If everyone would take good care of themselves, the health care problems in this country would mostly go away. Most people abuse themselves with a bad diet and lifestyle, and then they expect to have the insurance company (and really us) pay their big medical bills. This is wrong. They need to be responsible for their decisions. Educating them on healthy lifestyles would be a good thing for you to pursue, instead of paying out the money. You must not encourage the illegal behavior of the illegal aliens here, and their offspring that were born here. You can not let the US be taken advantage of in this way. This would be a slap in the face of ones who have attained thier citizenship by the legal means. As chairman of the financial oversight committee, you have a daunting task. There are financial giants that will be wooing you in all ways unimaginable. You need to stand strong for your constituents. You are our public servant, not the servant of the big banks! You will need great prayer for strength from the temptation of being swayed by the lobbyists for the big banks. They have a lot to lose. They have been very greedy, and have acted very irresponsibly at the expense of us, the common people. You need to LET THEM FAIL because of their greed and irresponsible behavior. DO NOT ENCOURAGE MORE IRRESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR ON THE PART OF THE BIG BANKS!!!!!! Let the free market take care of itself. Almost every time the federal govt gets involved in regulating the free market system, things go very bad. You are David against Goliath (the banks). You do not have the strength in yourself to do the right things with this kind of "enemy." You will need the power of Almighty God to do the righteous thing. I will be praing for you in this regard. Thank you, in advance, for greater transparency in government. I will be watching for it. I want to get more knowledgable and involved in the righteous fight. I see lots of people that feel similarly. Remember, you serve me and us, the common folks, your constituents, not the big banks. Stay away from conflicts of interest. This is very important. Do not let them buy you out! Thanks for listening.
  • Bruce Pendergrass commented on 1/8/2011
Now that have won back some control, absolutely do not compromise with any liberal or socialist ideas. Repeal everything that illegal Obama got passed. Put these idiots in their place, and let's run the rest of them out of government the next election.
  • Randy Ramsey commented on 1/8/2011
Great video, now let's see some results. Repeal Obama-care,secure our borders, and let's get a real energy policy and moast of all we need to STOP the ethanol farce it will never reduce our oil imports, it contaminates our fuel supply, and it causes everything we buy at the grocery store to cost more.

Congressman McHenry, Thank you for reaching out to your constituents to keep us informed of your position on matters that affect us and our nation. It's obvious that many representives don't make the effort or their effort is only to pacify. I believe that many of those in our current government believe their job is to rule rather than to serve. This needs to change to ensure the United States of America continues to be a nation of a free society as intended by those who originally wrote our constitution. Other changes I would like to see include: reducing the operating cost of our goverment by aligning wages and benefits of goverment employees with employees of commercial businesses and getting rid of earmarks in bills; reduce the complexity of taxes to ensure equitable contribution by all citizens of this nation (consider flat tax or fair tax options); take steps to secure the borders and require those who wish to become citizens to make a committment to being a true citizen in deed and action with dedication to this country above all others; a strong focus on supporting job growth through private sector; and reducing the overall size of our federal goverment, relying on state and local goverments to deal with issues as appropriate to meet the local needs. Sincere thanks for listening.

Congratulations on your Chairmanship of the Oversight Sub-Committee on TARP, Financial Services and Bailouts. This area really needs diligent investigation, and policing. Especially Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae and it's corrupt previous management. Perhaps a cleaning out process like what we experienced in this past election will be a good starting point. Please continue your efforts of fiscal conservatism and responsible spending.
  • Frank Simmons commented on 1/18/2011
Congressman McHenry - As a supporting constituent I would like to say keep up the good work. Repeal "Obamacare" and call it what it really is "Medical Insurance Reform". I don't know anyone who has been made healthy by their insurance agent anyway. Once repealled, then begin to work on real health care issues, mainly cost, not coverage. It doesn't need to be in a massive +2000 page document that no one wants or has time to read either. Baby steps, however many it takes, will get the job done. If each bill proposal is only 1 or 2 pages long it should help to expose and eliminate add on porkbelly costs as well, since it'll be easier to understand. Make these short bills available online to the public in a timely fashion prior to the vote in the House so Congress can get the peoples input. Yes, it'll mean alot of bills and alot of votes, but if clear and concise the health care system can be reformed into what it should be and not broken as it is now.
